Sun at 27 Leo today. It is blazing hot in Portland...

Vettius Valens says of Leo:

The constellation of the Lion itself is hot, producing a heat that is of the burning and scorching variety.  The bright star in the chest of the Lion is exceptionally blazing, as it creates the type of heat that is stifling.   In all reality, the entire portion of the constellation of Leo up until its twentieth degree is indicative of this kind of stifling heat; it is the kind that causes illness to rampantly spread through packs of four-footed animals in the upper regions of the country. The latter portion of the sign is full of movement and brings weather that is both frenetic and blazing.  The southern portion is indicative of a very moist and fiery heat.
